Meet Our Summer Interns

Women in STEM

What is the internship program?

Here at Dovetail, we are proud to support our community in a variety ways. A favorite program of ours is the Summer Intern program. This program is designed to provide opportunities for young men or women to gain real-world experience in their chosen field. In the past we have had interns who specialize in programming to technical writing and documentation.

Who are our interns?

This year we put the focus on Women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) and selected two of Holy Cross’ best in Lindsay, Technical Writer Intern, and Karina, Programming Intern. Lindsay and Karina worked closely with our experienced team and had the opportunity to work on meaningful projects that have a real impact on our team and our customers. Each spent the summer on their respective projects; researching, collaborating, and developing processes and then presenting their work to the team.

Why women in STEM?

We believe it is important to support and empower women in STEM, so we can build a stronger and more innovative workforce. According to the AAUW (American Association of University Women), women make up only about 28% of the workforce in STEM fields, with larger gaps in the computer fields. Diverse representation amongst these fields can help bring new light and solutions that otherwise may be overlooked. It would work to the benefit of everyone to stay globally competitive and increase the size of our talent pools by focusing on diversifying the field.

Our Best Wishes

Thank you for a great summer and good luck in your senior year, Lindsay and Karina. We look forward to seeing all you do in the future.
